What it is

This isn't a 90-day challenge.

Nobody's yelling at you. Nobody's keeping score. There's no prize for being perfect and no penalty for being human.

For the next 90 days, you're going to keep three small promises to yourself. That's it. Not a total life overhaul. Not a whole new personality. Three small promises.

Every time you keep one, you're collecting proof. Proof that you can say you'll do something for yourself and then actually do it. Proof that you can have a crappy day, miss a day, or completely forget, and still come back.

That's what this is really about. Not being perfect for 90 days. Learning that you know how to come back.

"This isn't about a perfect streak, a strict schedule, or a total life overhaul. It's about your real life, your five minutes, and learning you can trust yourself to come back."

From the back cover

Here's the whole deal.

1

Five minutes of movement.

Any kind. Five minutes is the promise. Walking, stretching on the floor, dancing in the kitchen, the treadmill, chasing the kids around. If five minutes turns into forty-five, great. But if five minutes is all you've got today, five minutes is the promise. You kept it.

yes, the dog walk counts.

2

Five minutes of journaling.

Right here in this book. Every day has a prompt, and the prompts are optional. Use the prompt. Ignore the prompt. Write about something completely different. This is your damn journal. There's no wrong way to use it.

3

Your 90-Day Promise.

One thing you pick for yourself. Something reasonable. Pick something small enough that you could do it on your worst day. The point isn't picking something impressive. The point is keeping a promise.

can't decide? pick the smaller one.

Plus: one small declutter project every 30 days. Not a daily thing. Not a fourth habit.

90 days of showing up, not 90 days in a row.

Day 17 is just the 17th time you opened this book. It might be the 17th day on the calendar. It might be the 23rd. Both count.

Some people finish their 90 days in 90 days. Some take 97, or 112, or longer. Nobody's getting a better grade.

When you miss a day.

You will miss a day. Probably more than one. That's not failure. That's life.

  • Don't skip ahead.
  • Don't catch up.
  • Don't fill in the pages you missed.
  • Don't start over.

Just open to the next page, write today's date, and keep going.

that's it. that's the whole rule.

Tap to see it bigger.

Five minutes is the minimum. Not the maximum.

Five minutes is small on purpose. Small enough that you'll actually do it on the hard days, the busy days, and the days you really, really don't want to.

Once you hit five minutes, you kept your promise. Done. Checkmark. Want to keep going? Keep going. Walk for an hour. Write three pages. But the extra doesn't make the day count more. Five minutes already counted.

Don't move the finish line after you've already crossed it.

Tap to see it bigger.

The enough line is on every daily page. Above it, you kept your promise. Below it, keep going if you want to. It never means stop.

Bigger doesn't count more.

Take a look inside

Real pages, straight from the journal.

Tap to see it bigger.

Here's what a real day can look like.

Not a perfect day. A real one. The journal walks you through a filled-in example before you start.

  1. 1The date. It won't always match the day number. That's the point.
  2. 2Three boxes. Check what you did. Missed one? Leave it blank and keep going. The day still counts.
  3. 3The prompt. This person ignored it completely. Totally allowed.
  4. 4The enough line. Five minutes of writing. Promise kept.
  5. 5Below the line. They kept going because they wanted to. Also allowed. Not required.

not fancy. still counts.

Every day you show up.

Every daily page has the same simple setup: the date, three boxes to check (5 minutes of movement, 5 minutes of journaling, My 90-Day Promise), today's prompt (use it or don't), and the enough line.

Day 1's prompt: What made you pick up this journal? Be honest. Nobody's reading this but you.

Tap to see it bigger.

It grows with you.

The 90 days are split into three sections of thirty. Each one opens with its own page, because Day 5 and Day 65 don't feel the same.

Tap to see it bigger.

Days 1–30 · Section One

The first thirty.

Figuring out what five minutes looks like in your actual life.

coming back counts.

Tap to see it bigger.

Days 31–60 · Section Two

Holy shit. You're actually in it now.

Thirty times. That's not nothing.

still here. still counts.

Tap to see it bigger.

Days 61–90 · Section Three

Now there's evidence.

Sixty times you showed up for yourself.

sixty. look at that.

At Day 30 and Day 60 you check in and look at your promise again. Keep it just like it is, or make it more doable. Making it smaller so it actually works isn't quitting. Making it bigger to prove something is moving the finish line.

The declutter part.

At the start of each 30-day section, you pick ONE thing to clear out. One drawer. One closet. The car. Your inbox. Whatever's been quietly bugging you.

This is not a fourth daily habit. You don't touch it every day. You have the whole 30-day section to get one thing done, whenever it fits.

Bigger does not count more. One junk drawer counts exactly as much as the garage. Nobody's handing out bonus points.

It's one more chance to show yourself you can finish something.

After Day 90

Look behind you.

The journal doesn't end with a trophy. It ends by asking you to flip back through the pages.

"That's 90 pages with your handwriting on them. 90 dates. 90 times you opened this thing and showed up for yourself."

And you came back.

holy shit. I actually did that.

Tap to see it bigger.

You might connect with this if…

Small promises. Real life. No perfection required.

Why I made it

I made this journal around something I'm still practicing myself: showing up for me without needing to be perfect first.

It comes from the same place as everything else on Be Real. Five minutes counts. Coming back counts. Evidence matters more than perfection.

And the bigger thank-you isn't from me. It goes to you, from you. You're the one who kept showing up.

Keep showing up.

Keep coming back.

Keep it real.

It fucking counts.
